In the liquor policy case, the Supreme Court granted Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal bail, subject to certain restrictions. His incarceration began on April 1.
In the liquor policy case, the Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Due to his suspected involvement in the Delhi excise policy issue, the AAP supremo has been detained since April 1.
After receiving a similar remedy in a case brought by the Enforcement Directorate, which is also looking into the alleged Delhi liquor policy fraud, Kejriwal was granted bail in a CBI case.
The Delhi Chief Minister must abide by a number of requirements specified by the Supreme Court when it granted Kejriwal bail, including those imposed upon him upon receiving relief in the ED case. Among them are:
Release contingent upon a Rs. 10 lakh bail bond
It is not possible for Kejriwal to comment on the Delhi liquor policy case.
Unless the judges exempt him, the Chief Minister of Delhi must be present for the trial.
While on bail, Kejriwal is not permitted to enter the Delhi secretariat or the Chief Minister's office.
He is unable to sign formal documents.
The allegations of irregularities in the creation of the now-canceled Delhi excise policy for 2021–2022 are at the heart of the Arvind Kejriwal case. Kejriwal and other AAP leaders are accused of purposely making exceptions in the policy so they could accept bribes from lobbyists for alcohol.
According to investigative authorities, money from this plan was used to support the AAP's Goa election campaign. Kejriwal was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21, and the CBI and ED are working together to investigate the matter.
