Korean Air passenger caught opening exit mid-flight

On X (previously Twitter), a startling video has surfaced that shows the terrifying moment when a rowdy passenger on a Korean Air aircraft tried to open the emergency exit door in midair. As the man went for the escape, the incident happened in midair, sending passengers into a panic. However, the cabin crew's swift action in intervening to restrain the passenger before the situation worsened prevented the potentially disastrous situation from happening.

The tense moment when the man tries to open the emergency exit door in midair, alarming other passengers, is seen on camera. Several members of the cabin crew are seen hurrying to stop him and attempting to drag him away from the entrance. Up to five crew members must cooperate to control the individual as the situation worsens owing to his resistance. In order to stop any further harm, the crew finally pins him down, therefore preventing a potentially deadly scenario.

Korean Air has been involved in similar incidents before. On November 8, another rowdy traveler on a Bangkok to Seoul flight tried to open the emergency exit door while the flight was in flight. An unnamed male passenger sitting in a crew-only jumpseat reached for the emergency door handle, causing a tense moment for the flight, which was about an hour into its five-and-a-half-hour voyage.

The man reportedly exhibited non-compliant behavior, including verbal aggressiveness and threatening actions, when confronted by cabin workers. But before things got out of hand, the team was able to hold him.

After confirming the event, Korean Air emphasized that all passengers and personnel were unharmed and that safety procedures were successfully followed. The airline emphasized the significance of following in-flight rules and reaffirmed its dedication to guaranteeing passenger safety.
