UP needed just 41.2 overs to chase down Vidarbha's target of 407 runs.

When Uttar Pradesh defeated Vidarbha by chasing down an enormous target of 407 in the U-23 State A Trophy one-day encounter, a historic milestone was reached. The match was played at the GSFC Cricket Ground in Vadodara.

In a matter of days, star batsman Sameer Rizvi demonstrated his abilities by scoring another double-century. UP had plenty of time—8.4 overs, to be exact—to reach home thanks to Rizvi's brilliant, undefeated 202. Intriguingly, Rizvi has scored four hundreds in six games this competition.

This became the most successful run-chase in a domestic List A match in India, which is noteworthy. Earlier this month, Bengal Women defeated Haryana Women in the Women's One-Day event, reaching 390. It was followed by 384, which Andhra Pradesh pursued in a match against Goa for the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

There were ten fours and an incredible eighteen sixes in the spectacular knock. Rizvi barely felt out of place throughout his 105-ball knock overall. Rizvi's poor performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy led to his dismissal from Uttar Pradesh's Vijay Hazare Trophy team. Only 136 runs could be scored by him in eight games.

Shaurya Singh and Swastik, the openers, started things off by leading the side to a century stand in just 10.4 overs. In a short period of time, Rizvi and wicketkeeper-batter Shoaib Siddiqui put on an undefeated 296-run partnership, easily leading their team to a decisive victory.

At the Indian Premier League's (IPL) 2025 mega auction, the 21-year-old was purchased by the Delhi Capitals for INR 95 lakhs. After such outstanding performances at the age-group level, he would undoubtedly be a potential star to watch in the upcoming season.
