On 26 December the 20-over competition began.
The seasoned Indian speedster Shikha Pandey has joined Canterbury Magicians in preparation for the Women's Super Smash. Canterbury announced the signing of the 35-year-old in a statement on Thursday, December 26.
Shikha has represented India in 62 T20Is, 55 ODIs, and three Test matches. Her final international match was place on February 23, 2023, during the Women's T20 World Cup semifinal match between Australia and India.
Our Canterbury Magicians have signed Indian cricketer Shikha Pandey for the 2024–2025 Super Smash season! We can't wait to watch her in action over the next months; you won't want to miss it! Canterbury written.
The Ramagundam native wrote, "Massively excited," to convey her excitement as well. On Friday, December 27, the Magicians will play the Otago Sparks at Alexandra's Molyneux Park to kick off their campaign.

During the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) 2024, which came to an end earlier this month, Shikha was instrumental for the Brisbane Heat. In a rain-shortened match, the Jess Jonassen-led team advanced to the finals but fell to the Melbourne Renegades by seven runs.
Shikha played in every Brisbane match during the competition. The right-arm bowler took 12 wickets at an average of 24.17 in 12 games.
Pandey also played for the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in the Women's Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) earlier this year. While Jhulan Goswami served as TKR's mentor, Jemimah Rodrigues was also a member of the team.
Throughout her international career, Shikha has taken 122 wickets. This includes the greatest statistics of 4/18 in an ODI and two four-wicket hauls. With two half-centuries under her belt in ODI cricket, she is also a useful batter lower in the order.
