Renuka claimed a handful of wickets in the game's opening over.

At the newly constructed Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, the third One-Day International between the India Women and the West Indies Women got off to a poor start as the visiting team's top order struggled against Renuka Singh Thakur's speed and swing in the powerplay.

The West Indies women were scheduled to play this final match for pride after losing the three-match ODI series against India women. Since they were under little to no pressure to bat first, this was the ideal opportunity for them to flex their muscles after their batting struggled greatly in the previous two games.

They lost their finest batsmen, Deandra Dottin (5 off 12) and Hayley Matthews (0 off 2), who failed to challenge the scorers once more as they were unable to stop Renuka Thakur's swing. Nevertheless, it was another batting disaster for them.

The ball suddenly swung in, trapping Matthews in her crease, and the delivery to the Windies captain was one of the best of the game. For the second time in the series, Matthews was sent off for a duck, and this time, she only made it through one delivery since she received the Jaffa in the second.

This was not the best series for Matthews, who finished with an average of 35.33, despite scoring a hundred in the second ODI. She will not want to recall some of her dismissals, particularly against Renuka, who dismissed her for the second time in the series, even if she is still the visitors' top run scorer.

Regarding the pacer's performance, as of this writing, the Shimla native has stats of 3/25 in the nine overs. Particularly with the new ball, she is establishing herself as one of the hosts' top pacers, and she plans to keep up her strong play going forward. With nine wickets taken thus far, including a fifer in the series opener, she is notably the series' leading wicket-taker.
