The latest Russian strikes, which were directed at the central Poltava region of Ukraine, are thought to be among the deadliest Moscow has launched since the conflict with Kyiv broke out more than 900 days ago, on February 24, 2022.

Russian missiles reportedly also targeted an energy facility in Chernihiv's northern region as well as the two regions' railway infrastructures, according to Ukrainian authorities.
According to Regional Governor Ivan Fedorov, 313 attacks and shelling incidents have occurred in 11 settlements across Ukraine in the last two days. A missile strike caused damage to a number of structures, including the administrative hub of the area, the city of Zaporizhzhia.
