Every year, on the day of the full moon in the Shukla Paksha of the month of Sawan, people celebrate Raksha Bandhan. Bhadra is not permitted at this event, and an afternoon full moon day is required. Bhadra, who is said to be the sister of Saturn and the daughter of the Sun in the Puranas, is said to be absent from all auspicious works. On Raksha Bandhan, the Gods, ancestors, and sages are recalled following an early morning bath. Following this, the Raksha Sutra, also known as Rakhi, is ceremoniously worshipped and placed in a spotless area covered in cow dung. Next, the right hand is tied with the Raksha Sutra. Raksha Bandhan will be observed in August 19.
In India, Raksha Bandhan is regarded as a holy day. The celebration now revolves about safeguarding one another rather than just being limited to siblings. Continue reading the article to learn more about the festival.

Rakshabandhan History
The gods and the demons once fought a twelve-year battle during which the gods lost and the demons took control of heaven. Though we had only lost the battle thus far, Indra went to his Guru Brihaspati, disappointed with the outcome, and told him, "I must fight." And all this was being listened to by Indra's wife, Indrani. Shravan Shukla Purnima is tomorrow, she continued. I will create the Raksha Sutra according to the laws, and you get it tied by the Brahmins, and this will make you the winner. On the next day, Rakshabandhan and Raksha Vidhan were completed by Indra. After this, the demons fled the battlefield in terror as Indra arrived there on the Airavat elephant. Raksha Vidhan's influence allowed Indra to triumph, and this festival has been observed ever since.
Pujan Shravan
During the night on the Shukla Paksha full moon day in the month of Sawan, Shravan Kumar, a devout son of his blind parents, went to gather water for them. Somewhere there, King Dasharatha was hiding, waiting for a hunt. He shot an arrow that pierced the word, killing Shravan, thinking the sound of the water pot was that of an animal. His parents, who were blind, began to weep when they learned of Shravan's passing. On the day of Shravani, Dasharatha then advocated Shravan Puja and expressed regret for the ignorance-related crime. Raksha Sutra was initially presented to Shravan during the Shravan Puja that began thereafter.
The Upkarma of Shravani
It is said that Shravani Upkarma occurs on the full moon day of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Sawan. For Brahmins in particular, this day is a feast that marks the beginning of the Veda Parayan. The sacred thread, known as the Yagyopaveet, is venerated on this day. A new one is worn in place of the old one. This rite, which the Guru used to carry out with his followers, is a part of the rich tradition of ancient India.
