Novak Djokovic donned a gray sleeve on his surgically repaired right knee as he triumphed in his opening match at Wimbledon on Tuesday with relative ease.

Competing for the first time since sustaining a meniscus tear at the French Open on June 3, Djokovic managed to avoid facing any break points en route to a commanding 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 win against qualifier Vit Kopriva in less than two hours on Centre Court.

He created a total of 15 break opportunities, converting six of them, and showcased his trademark precise shots, ending the match with double the number of winners (32) compared to unforced errors (16).

Numerous swift points were scored, likely due to Djokovic's effort to minimize unnecessary running. He succeeded in securing 68 out of 91 exchanges that lasted four or fewer strokes.

Djokovic, aged 37, has claimed seven out of his record-breaking 24 Grand Slam victories at the prestigious All England Club, finishing as the runner-up to Carlos Alcaraz in the previous year.

Djokovic injured his knee while securing a victory in five sets at Roland Garros, leading to his withdrawal from the tournament. Subsequently, he underwent surgery in Paris on June 5. In under a month, he returned to competition, setting his sights on claiming an eighth Wimbledon title, aiming to equal Roger Federer's record for the most championships won by a male player.
