There are orange and red advisories in effect for several states in the country, including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh, for the next few days. In these states, there's a chance of heavy or extremely heavy rain.

 

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that an orange alert for heavy rainfall has been issued for Delhi for Wednesday, July 3, and that a similar warning was in effect for Haryana, Chandigarh, and Punjab for today. Despite warnings to the contrary, the nation's capital had no rain on Monday and some light rain in certain areas on Tuesday.


Tuesday was another sunny day in Delhi, even with a little rain falling in some areas of the city. 36.7 degrees Celsius and 30.7 degrees Celsius, respectively, were the greatest and lowest recorded temperatures. There was a 62% relative humidity.

The national capital is expected to see cloudy skies and mild showers on Wednesday, with maximum and minimum temperatures predicted to be 34 and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Six days ahead of planned, on Tuesday, the Southwest Monsoon blanketed the whole nation, prompting the IMD to issue alerts for multiple locations.



According to the IMD's daily bulletin, there is an orange caution for heavy rainfall in East Uttar Pradesh from July 5 to July 7, and a similar warning was issued in West Uttar Pradesh from July 6 to July 7.

According to the Met Department, there is a chance of isolated, heavy rainfall in the following places: Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad between July 4 and 7, East Rajasthan between July 3 and 7, West Rajasthan on July 3, Madhya Pradesh between July 3 and 4, and Chhattisgarh on July 3.


Gujarat on July 3, coastal Karnataka between July 5 and 7, and Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra on July 6 and 7 all had an orange alert for heavy rain.



A red signal for exceptionally heavy rain is in effect for Assam and Arunachal Pradesh in East and Northeast India between July 5 and 7, according to the IMD. Due to the last days' intense rains, both states are experiencing significant flooding.

According to the weather service, an orange alert was issued on July 3 for Bihar, July 4 for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya, and July 3–4 for some areas of West Bengal, Sikkim, Nagaland, Tripura, Manipur, and Mizoram.

'Green' indicates no action required, 'yellow' indicates watch and remain informed, 'orange' indicates be prepared, and'red' indicates take action. The IMD has four color-coded alerts.
