On June 2, the trailer for Kakuda, starring Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh, and Saqib Saleem, was released. Aditya Sarpotdar, the director of Munjya, is in charge of the horror-comedy.

This year, Bollywood is honoring Halloween by releasing several horror-comedies. Aditya Sarpotdar is bringing another eerie comedy with lead actors Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh, and Saqib Salim, after the success of Munjya. On July 2, the trailer for Kakuda was unveiled, mocking Stree and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

Kakuda by Sonakshi-Riteish is set in a haunting village.

The first scene of the trailer introduces the eerie village of Ratodi, where every home has two doors—one large and one small. Kakuda, the ghost, is the recipient of the smaller door. The personality of Saqib Sonakshi's character Indira wins Sunny over with her tender devotion. In the village of Ratodi, they are married and begin a new chapter. They encounter a curse from Kakuda, though, and their love story takes an unexpected turn. When Sunny neglected to unlock the little door for Kakuda on their wedding night at 7:15 p.m., she unwittingly summoned the evil ghost.

The household's head is said to have been cursed by this tormented ghost as a kind of punishment, which causes a hump to grow on their back until their early death on the thirteenth day. Sunny's life is in jeopardy, so Indira turns to Riteish's captivating ghost hunter Victor for assistance.

Riteish Deshmukh starts ghost-hunting

Known for his comedic timing, Riteish is shown making fun of the female spirit that people draw on their walls and the ghosts that dance and sing (a reference to Manjulika from Bhool Bhulaiyaa) (the tagline from Stree). Riteish continues to deliver his one-liners even amid twists and terror.

Sonakshi's second 2024 release, Kakuda, follows the release of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, starring Tiger Shroff and Akshay Kumar. But this is Riteish and Saqib's first film outing of the year. The horror-comedy is produced by Ronnie Screwvala.

Zee5 will broadcast Kakuda on July 5, 2024.
